Westend 15, Blaydon Bricks 22 – Blaydon Bricks secure max points league win
With a number of late withdrawals on the day, we went from comfortable with 4 subs to only 1 sub and asking Derek to play his first full game after returning after 25 years absence and Lowsey having to step into flyhalf, which he did a sterling job of (as he would) and we secured full points with an away victory and 4 trys scored.
Another week of good discipline and playing as a team for each other, good win.
I didn’t see the game as I was at the club Xmas lunch, but got a few updates in the bar and the following would always be true:
- Keith will have knocked on or/and dropped the ball
- Steve K will have took good line out, when Ian B throw it straight
- Stracks, Steve K, Keith W, Paul W and Harry will have made yards
- Thanks to Steve Kane for guesting again, well actually, coming back from his extended loan spell at Winlaton 😉
- Damien A and Divers would have made yards and defended well
- Stu B would have been all over the park
- Stu R would have been telling people off, playing as if he was a back row and forgetting he is there to distribute the ball.
- Goggle needs a watch for Xmas, as he missed his flight and bailed out
- Scott H texted to say he would not make the 2pm KO, shame it was 1pm
- Dingley 2 took stick in the bar for taking a week off and watching the England game, Mrs Dingley was christen: Dingley 3, (Moretti induced) in hindsight she should be Dingley 1
.
