Blaydon Lions Festival Report

The dust has settled on what was an absolutely fantastic day of rugby at Crow Trees for the inaugural Blaydon Lions Festival.

With teams from Perthshire, Whitecraigs, Market Harborough, Stockton and Newcastle School for Boys visiting Crow Trees, the standard of rugby was always going to be high. All of the players did their parents and coaches proud and you are all welcome back to Blaydon any time in the future.

Congratulations to Perthshire and Market Harborough for taking home the Plate and Cup respectively following their names being drawn out of the hat.

The post festival social was great fun, with players, coaches and parents mingling and making new friends. Some suspect dancing from the ‘lost property crew’ and some extremely dodgy singing from a couple of the Blaydon coaches!!

All the players, parents and coaches of Blaydon Lions would like to thank Ian Taylor from Taylor & Sons Building Contractors for his generous sponsorship of the event and all the teams who attended for making our first attempt at a Festival a great success.

Now…where to go on tour next season?
